Net Weight

Also known as: Net Wt, Product Weight, Contents Weight

Definition

Net weight is the weight of just the product being shipped, without any packaging, boxes, pallets, or other shipping materials. It represents the actual weight of goods the customer is receiving.

Net Weight Formula

Net Weight = Gross Weight - Tare Weight

Where:

  • Gross Weight = Total weight on scale
  • Tare Weight = Weight of packaging/containers

Net Weight Examples
