Definition

Package redirect (also called intercept) is a service that lets you change where a package goes after it’s already been shipped. Whether you need to change the address, hold it at a facility, or return it to sender, redirect services provide flexibility.

Redirect Options

Change delivery address:

How to Redirect a Package

As the Recipient

USPS:

  1. Create/log into USPS account
  2. Find package by tracking number
  3. Select “Intercept” option
  4. Choose redirect action
  5. Pay any fees

UPS:

  1. Use UPS My Choice
  2. Locate package
  3. Select delivery changes
  4. Choose new option
  5. Confirm changes

FedEx:

  1. Sign up for Delivery Manager
  2. View incoming packages
  3. Customize delivery
  4. Select preferred option

As the Shipper

  • Contact carrier directly
  • Provide tracking number
  • Request redirect/intercept
  • May need account verification
  • Fees charged to shipping account

Redirect Limitations
