Shrink Wrap
Also known as: Shrink Film, Heat Shrink, Poly Shrink
Definition
Shrink wrap is plastic film that tightens around products when heat is applied. Unlike stretch wrap (which clings through tension), shrink wrap creates a tight, tamper-evident seal.
Shrink Wrap vs. Stretch Wrap
| Shrink Wrap | Stretch Wrap |
|---|---|
| Requires heat | No heat needed |
| Tight, formed fit | Tension-based hold |
| Tamper-evident | Not tamper-evident |
| Individual items or bundles | Pallets primarily |
| Higher cost | Lower cost |
