A tracking number is a unique code assigned to every package that lets you follow its journey through the shipping network. Think of it as your package’s passport—it gets scanned at every stop, creating a trail you can follow online.

How Tracking Works

  1. Label creation - Tracking number generated when label is printed
  2. First scan - Package enters carrier network (pickup or drop-off)
  3. In-transit scans - Each facility scans as it passes through
  4. Out for delivery - Loaded onto delivery vehicle
  5. Delivered - Final scan confirms delivery

Why “No Tracking Info” Happens

Several reasons a tracking number might not show info:

  • Too early - Allow 24 hours after label creation
  • Not scanned yet - Package hasn’t entered network
  • Wrong carrier - Checking wrong carrier’s website
  • System delay - Carrier tracking database updating
  • Handed to another carrier - Check partner carrier’s site

  2. Use carrier apps - Set up delivery notifications
